NBA news: Huge LeBron James and Kevin Durant claim made during Warriors game
NBA NEWS - Kevin Durant will overtake LeBron James and become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
LeBron James not an 'irresistible force' for Lakers says pundit
That’s the view of five-time NBA All-Star and current analyst Chris Webber.
James moved up to fifth on the list on Wednesday night when he overtook Wilt Chamberlain during Los Angeles Lakers’ win over Portland Trail Blazers.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points, ahead of Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and James.
James has scored 31,425 points during his career to date with the 33-year-old joining the Lakers from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason.
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant is currently 35th on the lis with 21,296 points.
Durant is 30 and Webber believes he will overtake LeBron James once the King has become the leading scorer.
“I do believe LeBron will be the all-time leading scorer, I believe he will pass Kareem,” Webber said during Warriors’ clash with Houston Rockets.
“But then I believe Durant will pass LeBron.”
Prior to becoming fifth on the scorer list, NBA expert Danny Leroux had questioned why James hasn’t scored more points this season.
"Do you remember when they first signed LeBron they said they would get playmakers for him?" he asked on the Dunc'd On podcast.
"That was so they could get him near the post, which didn't make a lot of sense.
"Because if you throw it to him at the post, those playmakers just become more players that can't shoot.
"The idea was that he was going to post up, well he's only had 20 post-up possessions through the season.
"That's less than two-per-game that he's actually finished at the post."
The Lakers are currently 8-6 for the season.
They are on the hunt for their first NBA Championship since 2010.
