NBA news: Golden State Warriors star to MISS Milwaukee Bucks game through injury
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS star Draymond Green will miss Thursday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The star has suffered a sprained toe injury, the franchise confirmed.
Green was forced off in the Warriors’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
After skipping practice on Wednesday, the Warriors have now confirmed that he will be out of Thursday’s game against the Bucks.
The Warriors have had a strong start to the season, winning ten games out of 11, and are currently on an eight-game win streak.
The Bucks have had a similarly good start to the season.
They have won eight out of ten games, but face the Warriors on the back of a defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Initially, Green’s injury didn’t look too bad.
Head coach Steve Kerr hinted that Green would be fine for Thursday.
“They took X-rays, and the X-rays were negative,” he said post-match.
“But it didn’t make sense for me to go out and play in the second half.
“He sort of tested it out, and we decided to shut him down.
“We'll see what happens -- hopefully, we got a couple days before our next game.
“But we'll see what happens."
Green’s team-mate, Kevin Durant, echoed the sentiment of Kerr, and voiced his hope that Green would be back quickly.
“I hope he's all right,” he said.
“I think he's all right.
“He came back out there after he did it and then sat out the second half, but hopefully he's all right.
“I didn’t get a chance to talk to him.”
