Jordan Spieth reveals what wives do during Masters champions dinner as Rory McIlroy hosts
Jordan Spieth has shared what wife Annie Verret and the partners of previous champions do during the Masters dinner, which will be hosted by Rory McIlroy.

Jordan Spieth has lifted the lid on what the partners of former Masters winners get up to during the Champions Dinner. The 2026 edition of the iconic tournament at Augusta is set to begin this Thursday, with plenty of activity taking place in and around the course throughout the week.
The Masters dinner is one of the most celebrated traditions of the event, with Rory McIlroy - who claimed the Green Jacket in triumphant fashion in 2025 - hosting Tuesday's gathering. Spieth, who won back in 2015, will be among those in attendance, and he has shed light on what his wife Annie Verret will be doing alongside the other spouses at Augusta National Golf Club.
Speaking via the Masters YouTube channel on an episode of 'Under The Umbrella', he said: "On Tuesday night when I go to the champions dinner, Julie Krenshaw (Ben Krenshaw's wife) puts together a dinner for some of the ladies of the champions.
"So we make it pseudo date night, we don't end up seeing each other but we go our separate ways when we go to the club and then we meet up after I go down and they're always hooting and hollering downstairs, whoever is hosting. So that's kind of a fun one, then you go the par 3 on Wednesday and all of a sudden it is tournament time.

"Once it starts, nothing really feels too different, but that Monday through to Wednesday there is something special on each day." The Champions Dinner has dominated headlines in recent weeks, with golf enthusiasts curious about how the seating arrangement operates. Spieth explained why you can't sit in the section occupied by Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

He previously said: "It's kind of like 6th, 7th grade. If the teacher they have assigned seats you get all bummed, and if they let you sit wherever you want you end up sitting in the same spot anyways. It's kind of the same deal.
"Sit with Scottie [Scheffler], but then when Scottie wins, you know, he's done that twice in the last three or four or so. There's a certain section on the far side from where we sit where you don't sit, because it's Jack and Tiger. And that's where Arnie [Palmer] was."
Yet Woods' place will remain empty after he confirmed he would be stepping away from golf temporarily following his car accident. The 50-year-old was charged in late March with driving under the influence following his arrest at the scene of the crash, and he has entered a not guilty plea.
