Pat Perez's wife admitted last year that she would "love to see" pro golfer Rory McIlroy get "punched in the face". Social media influencer Ashley, who is reportedly divorcing her LIV Golf star husband, shocked fans with a sharp outburst against another sporting figure when revealling her strong feelings towards Northern Irish golf champ, McIlroy.

This stark confession came as Team Europe celebrated their Ryder Cup victory over the Americans last September. McIlroy led the team to victory alongside golfers such as John Rahm, Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood.

Yet, it wasnt a controversy-free event, as McIlroy found himself under scrutiny for shouting at caddie Joe LaCava in a car park - riling Ashley who went on to write and emotional Instagram post critiquing the golfer's behaviour. In the post, the 34-year-old Said: "I can't possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face. And I mean that in the nicest possible way... kinda," reports the Mirror.

Pat's first marriage ended in divorce before he met Ashley at a dinner in Las Vegas. They would go on to wed in 2014 and later had two children together.

And despite his proceedings still going through the system, it seems inevitable that Perez will legally separate from his partner at some point this year. It's not the only blow that Perez has faced this year either, currently teetering on the brink of being dropped from the LIV Golf promotion.

Perez first signed with the Saudi-backed league in 2022, inking a deal reportedly worth $10million (£7.9million). And despite initial success - including winning the inaugural LIV team championship and the 4Aces - he now languishes in 47th place in the league table overall.

With just four games remaining and flirting with relegation, the Phoenix, Arizona native's best performance this year was a T-14 finish in Nashville last week. He still has opportunities to improve his standing in upcoming games in Andalucia, the UK, Greenbrier and Chicago, but with a mere 7.76 points overall, he faces an uphill battle to secure his spot in the promotion for 2025.

Players scoring 49 or below will be cut from the series, and currently, only Harold Varner III and Laurie Canter stand between Perez and elimination. His fate in the competition will be decided in the coming months.
