Man Utd vs Real Madrid: Fred given Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata instructions
MANCHESTER UNITED take on Real Madrid in their final tour game and club hero Dennis Irwin has urged new signing Fred to get forward and support the front two.
Alexis Sanchez starts up front alongside Juan Mata with Fred playing in a midfield combination with Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay.
The Brazilian joined United on a five-year deal from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer for a fee in the region of £52m.
"Fred will complement our other midfielders' qualities, which we need; his creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game,” boss Jose Mourinho said of his new signing.
Asked if Fred can thrive in United’s midfield, Irwin said: “I hope so because we need somebody in there.
We need one of the forward thinking players to get up there and support Sanchez
“He’s mobile, he gets around the field, we seen that in his 20 minute cameo against Liverpool.
“He can get on the ball, I’ve watched him in training.
“He’s a neat, tidy passer and he’s got a bit of pace about him.
