Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho makes Real Madrid admission before friendly clash
JOSE MOURINHO fears Manchester United could be in for a difficult night against Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup as he doesn’t have a full squad at his disposal.
Mourinho has moaned about the number of players available to him in the States.
After nearly three weeks touring the US, the Portuguese is missing 15 of his first-team squad through injury or holiday.
Manchester United face Mourinho’s former employers Real Madrid in the early hours of this morning (1.05am) and they will be eager to make amends after their 4-1 defeat to Liverpool last weekend.
And when asked about the significance of the game against Real, Mourinho tried to temper expectations.
The positive feeling is to win the first Premier League match. That’s the real good feeling.
“The positive feeling is to win the first Premier League match,” Mourinho said before the match.
“That’s the real good feeling.
“Of course nobody likes to lose and by big numbers.
“We know Real Madrid players left the World Cup earlier than ours.
“They have almost all of their team here.
“It will be hard for us. It will be a chance for the younger players to enjoy the experience.
“The players that will be in Premier League squad, it will be a chance to play a difficult match and it’s good for preparation.”
