Chelsea transfer news: Willian move could pave the way for Leon Bailey deal
CHELSEA could pursue a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey as a replacement for Willian, according to reports.
Willian has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona after he failed to curry favour under Antonio Conte last term.
Although the Catalan giants have had three bids rejected and with the Blues supposedly slapping a £70million price-tag on the Brazilian, it won’t stop them.
Despite already agreeing a deal for Bordeaux winger Malcom, Willian still remains a target for Barcelona.
And with the transfer window closing on August 9, it doesn’t leave the Blues with much time to find a replacement for Willian.
However, according to The Sun, Bailey is eager to push through a move away from Leverkusen.
And it is said his agent will look to hold talks with potential suitors over the coming week.
It is also suggested that Leverkusen could struggle to reject clubs if a bid of £40m is tabled for Bailey.
The Sun also reckon Arsenal could make their own move, but would look for a cheaper deal for the 20-year-old.
With Unai Emery having already made five signings so far, the priority now may be to trim his squad.
Bailey is currently contracted with Leverkusen until 2022.
