Everton transfer news: Yerry Mina told NOT to join Toffees - ‘they’re a mid-table team’
EVERTON target Yerry Mina has been told he’s too good for a move to Goodison Park by fellow Colombian Carlos Valderrama.
Barcelona FC’s Yerry Mina does a round of quick-fire questions
The centre-half enjoyed an impressive World Cup for Los Cafeteros, but has had less luck for current club Barcelona, making only six appearances in his first five months.
This has led to a whirlwind of speculation over the 23-year-old's future, linking him with a host of clubs including Liverpool, Leicester and Galatasaray.
Legendary midfielder Valderrama, who made 111 caps for Colombia, has weighed in with his say on the defender's future.
The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious
“The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious, I don't think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton," he said.
“Fatih Terim has a great record of developing players. If it were me, I would pick Galatasaray.”
Mina meanwhile has spoken to Marca about how he feels about his future.
He said: "I want to make the best decision, but being calm is the most important thing.
"I want the best for my life and I have fulfilled a dream arriving at Barcelona, but this year I had some very difficult moments.
"I want a team where I'm calm and can receive minutes."
