Chelsea transfer news: Courtois joining Real Madrid could spark Liverpool signing - Hislop
CHELSEA goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois joining Real Madrid would open the door for Liverpool to sign Keylor Navas.
Courtois to Real Madrid 'makes a whole lot of sense' says Hislop
That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
Courtois has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The Belgium No 1’s family still live in Madrid following his time at rivals Atletico.
He is out of contract at the end of the upcoming season and is no closer to agreeing an extension at Chelsea.
If Courtois goes to Real Madrid, Keylor Navas is in play and you know highly I think of Keylor Navas
And Hislop believes Liverpool can benefit by going after current Real No 1 Navas to solve their goalkeeper problems.
“This makes a whole lot of sense,” Hislop said of Courtois joining Real.
“Real Madrid, by all accounts, have shifted their attentions to Thibaut Courtois after being frustrated in the transfer market in trying to get David De Gea.
“I think during the course of this World Cup Courtois’ stock has gone up, De Gea’s gone down. This makes a whole lot of sense for me.
Courtois shows off INCREDIBLE reaction skills during training
“This also ties in with (Liverpool). If Courtois goes to Real Madrid, Keylor Navas is in play and you know highly I think of Keylor Navas.
“That is an answer I’d go for all day long in terms of filling that void for Liverpool.”
Courtois won the Golden Glove award at the World Cup following Belgium's third-place finish.
