Man Utd favourites
Manchester United have emerged as the bookies’ favourites to sign Tottenham and England ace Kieran Trippier.
The Red Devils are available at odds of 5/2 with Ladbrokes to snap up the former Manchester City youngster.
Chelsea are next in the queue to land the right-back, with the west Londoners priced up at 7/2.
La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the running, priced at 4/1 and 5/1 respectively.
City are 8/1 to re-sign Trippier, having sold him to Burnley back in 2012.
"Trippier's England heroics look to have excited plenty of European heavyweights and the betting suggests up to five clubs could be tempted into making a move for the Spurs man this summer," said Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati.
Sandro price tag
Manchester United transfer target Alex Sandro is reportedly rated at at least £31m (€35m) by Juventus.
Jose Mourinho wants the Brazilian to shore up the left side of his defence next season.
And, with no new deal signed at the Allianz Stadium, Juventus could be planning to cash in.
According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, it will take a minimum of £31m to prise Sandro away.
United have got Kieran Tierney and Danny Rose in their sights too as they look to permanently replace Luke Shaw.
Evra backs Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has received backing for his decision to join Juventus from his former Manchester United team-mate Patrice Evra.
"Everyone asks me, ‘Pat, what do you think?’ I haven’t spoken to Cristiano about this, but my advice is he has to go to Juve," Evra said. "There is no other team he must join. It’s simple.
"I thank Juve, because if after Manchester I continued to win and to run, it was thanks to Juve. You should never spit on the plate that fed you, so Juve will always be in my heart.
"So Cristiano, I tell you this: make the right choice. You know how much the Italians love you, but it’s a sacrifice.
"If you go to Juve, it’s to work and to work hard. This lot don’t know what a vacation is.
"If you go to Juve, you’ll be at the next World Cup not as a mascot, but as a protagonist."
Kovacic battle
Manchester United could reportedly go head-to-head with Manchester City for Mateo Kovacic this summer.
The wantaway Real Madrid midfielder is on United’s radar as Jose Mourinho looks to further bolster his squad.
But it seems City have got him in their sights too, with a deal for Jorginho now in the balance.
The Mirror indicate City are eyeing Kovacic up after Chelsea emerged as serious rivals for Jorginho’s midfielder.
United may then have to fight off City for Kovacic if the Napoli ace ends up at Stamford Bridge instead of the Etihad.
Man Utd should get Tierney 'best' Scottish left back, says Nevin
£25m Tierney update
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.
The Scotland international is in-demand with a clutch of Premier League clubs watching his performances with interest.
United are the biggest name in the hunt for his signature as they look for a solution their problematic left-back spot.
Everton are believed to have jumped ahead of the likes of United, Tottenham and Bournemouth by opening talks with Celtic.
However, the Liverpool Echo indicate they have at least temporarily ended their interest due to Tierney’s £25m price tag.
That news will come as a positive update to United, who would have faced paying even more to sign him from Everton in the future.
Ronaldo explanation
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo might want a change of scenery and that’s why he’s joining Juventus.
That’s the verdict of Manchester United hero Edwin van der Sar, after his 33-year-old former team-mate was linked with a return to Old Trafford.
"I’m not sure," said Van der Sar. "He’s won a couple of Champions Leagues in Madrid, he’s the leading club scorer there, he lives in a fantastic capital.
"Maybe the fans are demanding, that’s to say the least of it. It would be a surprise move, to be fair.
"Maybe different surroundings, different stadiums, a different lifestyle could give him an extra push for the later stages of his career.
"What he’s done so far, the couple of years I played with him at United as a young boy, you could see him growing up and you could see the qualities coming in to him.
"He’s learned a lot and progressed at Madrid and last two years, the amount of goals he’s been scoring, it’s just insane."
Fekir decision
Manchester United have reportedly opted against pursuing a deal for Liverpool transfer target Nabil Fekir.
Fekir is one of the summer’s hottest properties with Jurgen Klopp at the front of the queue to prise him away from Lyon.
Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas hinted United rival Liverpool though after he revealed he had spoken to Jose Mourinho.
However, it seems that chat at the World Cup in Russia will come to nothing as United are not after Fekir.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United have decided not to sign Fekir, leaving the door open for Liverpool to make their move.
Willian contract boost
Chelsea could cash-in on Manchester United transfer target Willian, reports claim.
Jose Mourinho is eager to secure a reunion with the industrious Brazilian winger this summer.
And it seems Chelsea could be open to doing a deal to ensure his value does not dwindle.
Football.London indicate the fact Willian is in the final two years of his contract could see him sold.
And that will come as a boost to United, who may face competition from Barcelona for his signature.
