The England midfielder joins the Hammers on a free transfer after leaving Arsenal at the start of the month.
West Ham survived relegation last season but decided against keeping David Moyes in charge - instead moving for Manuel Pellegrini.
The former Manchester City manager is also expected to add Borussia Dortmund’s Andriy Yarmolenko to his squad, with Lukasz Fabianski and Ryan Fredericks have already joined.
As for Anderson, the 25-year-old played 32 games for Lazio last season, scoring eight goals.
He joined the Serie A club back in August 2013, having started his professional career at Santos.
The midfielder boasts just one Brazil cap - picked up against Mexico in 2015.
