Liverpool are yet to replace the 26-year-old, who has impressed during his time at the Nou Camp.
The Reds almost signed Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, however, the deal fell through at the last minute.
Liverpool’s medical team discovered problems with an old knee injury, forcing the Reds to pull the plug on the £53m deal.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, Klopp is still keen on signing an attacking midfielder to replace Coutinho.

The Reds boss has been busy in this transfer window, with midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho heading to Anfield.
Liverpool’s new signings made their debuts yesterday as the Reds hammered Chester 7-0 in their first pre-season friendly.
When asked about Keita and Fabinho after the game, Klopp said: “Naby is a nice player. Leipzig has a similar philosophy.
“His counter pressing looks natural. Fabinho is a fantastic footballer as well."
Liverpool boss Klopp is keen to spend big this summer to mount a Premier League title charge next season.
