England fans SLAM Guy Mowbray for ruining World Cup - ‘he’s SCREAMING over the top s***e'
FOOTBALL fans turned on BBC commentator Guy Mowbray during England’s quarter-final win over Sweden.
Mowbray was commentating alongside Martin Keown for the last-eight clash and you would have thought it would have been a time for celebration.
Harry Maguire headed England into a first-half lead before Dele Alli nodded home a second to book a semi-final spot.
But instead of celebrating a memorable win, TV viewers were instead more annoyed with Mowbray and his over-excited work on the box.
“New found hatred for Guy Mowbray #ENGvSWE,” wrote one while a fellow user said: “Guy Mowbray always goes far too early. Rein it in.”
Another tweeted: “@Guymowbray p**sing me off as well. Wind your neck in, son.”
One angry tweeter posted: “Horrendous commentary from Guy Mowbray. Just screaming over the top s***e. You'd think they were beating Spain in their prime 6-0. All he's missing is shouting rule Britannia #bbcfootball #EnglandvSweden
“Could really do without Guy Mowbray over stating everything! #engswe #bbcworldcup,” added another.
Mowbray, who was born in York, was clearly supporting England and that in itself annoyed some viewers.
“Try and remember not everyone in the UK is supporting Engerlund,” a fellow poster wrote.
While another added: “I’ve sworn more at Guy Mowbray's abysmal commentary than I have any of the England team.”
