LUCAS TORREIRA has rejected the opportunity to conduct his Arsenal medical during the World Cup and will instead wait until Uruguay’s campaign in Russia is over.

That is the claim of the player’s father.
The Sampdoria midfielder is set to sign for Arsenal in a £26.4million deal which has been agreed for several weeks.
But the official confirmation of a transfer has been delayed by Torreira’s international involvement with Uruguay in western Europe.
The 22-year-old’s country are in the quarter-finals of the competition and he will hope to be involved when they take on France in Nizhny Novgorod today (3pm).
Torreira will become Arsenal’s fourth summer signing but, according to his father Ricardo, will not think about any move until after Uruguay’s stay in Russia comes to an end.
The deal is virtually done and only the arrival of Lucas is remaining.
He told Fox Sports Argentina: "It is as good as a fact that Lucas will join Arsenal.
“There are many clubs who contacted us but we have given our word to Arsenal and are very satisfied with what they offered.
"The deal is virtually done and only the arrival of Lucas is remaining.
"Arsenal offered to do the medical examinations in Russia but we decided against it because we felt it’s inconvenient, it is not the right time."
Arsenal have already welcomed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos to the club this summer.
Unai Emery has also been recently linked with a move for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes and would reportedly be open to sanctioning several sales to afford the £30m-rated midfielder.
Arsenal’s non-World Cup stars returned for pre-season training earlier this week ahead of their opening pre-season friendly at Boreham Wood on July 14.
