Liverpool transfer news: Reds and Everton launch bid for Dejan Lovren's World Cup partner
LIVERPOOL have launched a bid for Dejan Lovren's Croatian defensive partner Domagoj Vida, according to reports.
Domagoj Vida scores incredible goal for Besiktas
The Reds are looking to bolster their defensive ranks after the £75m arrival of Virgil van Dijk in January.
The Dutchman was partnered by Lovren for the second half of the season, with the duo helping Liverpool reaching the Champions League final.
But Klopp clearly feels he needs a new central defender to play alongside van Dijk this season.
And according to Turkish journalist Turgay Demir, Liverpool and their Merseyside neighbours Everton have both already launched bids for Vida this summer.
Everton and Liverpool have made an offer for Vida
“Everton and Liverpool have made an offer for Vida," he told A Spor.
"€15m (£13m) has been proposed but Besiktas will not consider a bid below €20m (£18m).”
Besiktas are happy for Vida to leave if the price is right.
However, the Turkish outfit want to find a replacement before letting the 29-year-old leave, after they failed to do the same when Cenk Tosun left for Everton in January.

Vida joined Besiktas on a free transfer in January, signing a four-year deal.
The former Dynamo Kiev star and Lovren have enjoyed a solid partnership for Croatia at the World Cup so far this summer.
Zlatko Dalic's side have already booked their place in the quarter-final of the tournament, where they will meet Russia.
