Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho intervenes in surprise deal
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho reportedly convinced the club to hand Marouane Fellaini a two-year deal, ultimately leading to him signing a new contract.

Fellaini’s contract is due to expire at the end of the month and talks throughout the season failed to result in an agreement.
The Belgium international announced this week that he intends to reveal his future on July 1 and it is widely expected a two-year deal worth over £100,000-a-week has been negotiated.
And Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur claims Mourinho pushed for Fellaini to get more than a one-year extension from Manchester United.
Terreur wrote on Twitter: “Jose Mourinho pushed for a contract extension for more than a year.

“[Mourinho] gets what he wanted: a loyal soldier and a weapon for specific circumstances."
Fellaini has been one of Mourinho’s most loyal and reliable players since he became the manager in 2016.
In 156 appearances, Fellaini has scored 20 goals for United.
Despite deciding to stay at Old Trafford, Fellaini faces a battle for regular first-team football.
Brazilian Fred has arrived in a £52million deal and is expected to play alongside Nemanja Matic.
Last night, Fred and Matic met for the first time after Brazil beat Serbia 2-0 in the World Cup.
And on Instagram, Fred revealed Matic had given him his Serbia shirt from the game.
