Man Utd transfer news: Marco Verratti up for sale and PSG want Paul Pogba
MANCHESTER UNITED may end up swapping Paul Pogba for Marco Verratti this summer.
That is the sensational claim coming from the Sun.
Pogba has endured a miserable season at United and is yet to set the World Cup alight either.
He could be moved on this summer but only if a club at least meet the £89m United spent on him two years ago.
PSG are said to be interested in the France international, who rejected them and Real Madrid to move to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2016.
And a deal could supposedly be lined up that would see Italian Verratti head in the opposite direction.
The Sun reckon Verratti is available after rejecting a new £9m-a-season contract at the Parc des Princes.
They are hoping United will offer to swap Pogba for the midfielder.
It is claimed PSG will also accept a cash offer for Verratti, although Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho already has a budget in line for his current targets.
PSG themselves are desperate to raise around £50m before July 1 to appease UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.
United have already signed midfielder Fred this summer but are chasing other targets, with Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini set to leave.
Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is wanted but will cost around £100m if the Serie A club are to sell.
