Arsenal transfer news: Sevilla send Gunners warning over Ever Banega deal
ARSENAL transfer target Ever Banega is not for sale this summer, according to Sevilla.
The midfielder is the latest player to be linked with a move to Unai Emery's new-look Gunners side of late.
Banega is said to want out of the La Liga outfit after he returns from the World Cup with Argentina.
But Sevilla are desperate to hold onto the 29-year-old ahead of the start of the new season.
And according to the Independent, the La Liga side are now insisting Banega is not for sale under any circumstances.
Sevilla have plans to sit down and negotiate a new deal with the player upon his return from Russia.
However, their attempts to keep Banega at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium beyond the summer may fall flat.
According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, the sacking of former sporting director Oscar Arias has left Banega furious with club officials in recent weeks.
Sevilla are already planning ahead in case Arsenal meet the player's £20m release clause this summer.
Pablo Machin is eyeing a swoop for Swansea midfielder Roque Mesa, who spent the end of last season on loan with Sevilla.
The club may yet be forced to sell Banega later in the summer due to the financial implications of missing out on the Champions League.
