Man Utd news: Sam Allardyce makes Marcus Rashford prediction - fans will be divided
MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford has not done enough to start England’s first game at this summer’s World Cup.
That is the opinion of former England boss Sam Allardyce.
Rashford starred for the Three Lions in their 2-0 friendly win over Costa Rica on Thursday.
The Manchester United forward lashed home the opener from 25 yards in the first half and was a constant threat for Gareth Southgate’s side.
Allardyce does not think Rashford will start when England take on Tunisia.
Er, probably not, no
But he can see him featuring at some point in the group stage.
“Er, probably not, no,” Sam Allardyce told talkSPORT.
“If Gareth is thinking about rotation, using the full strength and depth of his squad, I think he [Marcus Rashford] will come in in the group stages and start a game.
“Looking at all the changes Gareth made to the team Thursday, and I know it wasn’t big opposition but given how well they performed, I don’t think he’ll pick the same XI for all three group games.

“I think he’ll use a rotation system, which is very important if you’re going to go a long way in the World Cup.”
England fly out to Russia on Tuesday and face Tunisia six days later.
Then follows games against Panama (June 24) and Belgium (June 28).
