Liverpool transfer news: Timo Werner drops huge hint over RB Leipzig future
LIVERPOOL transfer target Timo Werner has dropped a huge hint regarding his future at RB Leipzig.
The German international has previously been linked with a move to the Reds after his stunning impressing in the Bundesliga.
Werner recently said goodbye to team-mate Naby Keita, who is set to complete his switch to Liverpool this summer.
And while discussing the imminent move, the forward admitted he plans to move away from Leipzig in the coming years.
“I’m not yet an international player. My role models are Lewandowski, Luis Suarez and Griezmann," Werner told German newspaper Die Welt.
Naby Keita has not fully established himself with us, but he could become a top player at Liverpoo
"If I want to become a great champion, I will probably have to play in a different club, I want to be honest in this sense.
“Naby Keita has not fully established himself with us, but he could become a top player at Liverpool.
"My future? I still have 4-5 years to learn in order to become a world-class player.”
Werner is preparing to lead the line for his country at the World Cup this summer.
And the 22-year-old knows a strong showing in Russia is likely to attract Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United.
Werner netted 13 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
