Man Utd transfer news: Shock twist as Juventus stand-off threatens Mourinho’s buying plans
MANCHESTER UNITED are yet to agree a transfer fee with Juventus for Matteo Darmian - and that could impact on their other deals.
Manchester United are ready to sell Darmian to Juventus and the player was spotted in Italy on Thursday ahead of his move.
A medical was expected today and Italian media have claimed the right-back has agreed a five-year contract in Turin.
But in a fresh twist it appears as though Juve are yet to agree with United over Darmian’s transfer fee.
It was claimed the Red Devils were willing to accept a £10.5m deal to send Darmian back to Serie A.
But Sky Sport Italia report Gianluca Di Marzio says United are actually seeking £17.5m.
The revelation comes as United themselves push to sign Porto’s Diogo Dalot as a replacement for Darmian.
But that deal - which will cost Jose Mourinho £17.5m after United triggered the player’s release clause - rests on Darmian leaving first.
United are also said to be eyeing Valencia’s versatile right-back Joao Cancelo as Mourinho seeks adequate competition for Antonio Valencia.
But it is unlikely that either deal will go through until Darmian is offloaded.
