Liverpool transfer news: Alisson decision made by Reds as Chelsea consider hijacking deal
LIVERPOOL remain keen on Roma goalkeeper Alisson despite Chelsea entering the race for his signature, according to reports.
Liverpool have been pursuing Roma’s Alisson for some time, despite the Brazilian shipping seven goals in their two Champions League semi-final clashes.
Chelsea, however, are thought to be keen as well with the Blues resigned to losing Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois has snubbed a new deal and move back to Spain, with Real Madrid, now appears to beckon.
Liverpool are in the market for a new shot-stopper following Loris Karius’ shambolic Champions League final showing.
The German international endured a nightmare in Kiev.
He was at fault for Real’s first goal, rolling the ball into the path of Karim Benzema, who stuck out a leg.
And, for their third of the night, Karius spilled Gareth Bale’s shot into the net.
As a result, the Daily Mail say Liverpool are still in the running for Alisson as they aim to strengthen in that department.
However, the Brazil international is not the only goalkeeper being linked.
Liverpool are also being tipped to sign Jasper Cillessen.
Alisson Becker's incredible moments in goal for A.S. Roma
The Holland international was once on the radar of Manchester United, where he was touted as a potential David De Gea replacement.
Now, though, he has spent the last two years playing second fiddle to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen at Barcelona.
Alisson still appears to be spearheading Liverpool’s goalkeeping list regardless.
And that is because Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak may be beyond their price range.
