But the Italian will not be bringing any of his Napoli staff with him to Stamford Bridge.
Sarri’s representatives have been in talks with Chelsea officials in London this week.
Reports in Italy claim a deal is ‘imminent’ and an announcement is due soon.
Antonio Conte will be shifted out to make room for Sarri.
But his coaching staff will be staying in Naples.
That is according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
They claim manager Francesco Calzona, Simone Bonomi and fitness coach Francesco Sinatti will stay and work under new Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Sarri has supposedly agreed a four-year contract at Chelsea worth £5.25m a season.
Chelsea will have to pay £7m to prise him out of the remaining 12 months of his Napoli contract - even though the Serie A club have no intention to make him work next season.
The Blues are also likely to have to pay the full £9m owed to Conte if the 46-year-old is axed this summer.
