Liverpool vs Real Madrid: Klopp makes funny Alexander-Arnold admission before final
JURGEN KLOPP has made a hilarious admission about Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Under Klopp, Alexander-Arnold enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough campaign at Anfield.
The 19-year-old’s form earned him a call-up to the England squad for the World Cup which gets underway on June 14 in Russia.
Alexander-Arnold will be tasked with trying to keep Cristiano Ronaldo quiet when Liverpool face Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday in Kiev (7.45pm).
Should the Reds win, it would be their first European Cup triumph in 13 years, while Real are aiming for their 13th success in the competition.
It’s such a long name I thought that was three players - Trent, Alexander and Arnold
And when talking about his squad before the final, Klopp had something funny to say about the left-back.
“It’s such a long name I thought that was three players - Trent, Alexander and Arnold,” Klopp admitted.
When describing Alexander-Arnold’s progress, Klopp added: “It was obvious he’s a big talent when we got him.
“Physically he was ready - he made big steps and he was still growing.
“The talent was obvious and there was only one question - was he mentally ready for the Premier League?
“He showed he absolutely is and he had an outstanding season.
“Hopefully he will have a good World Cup and I think it’s deserved and a good decision.”
