Liverpool vs Real Madrid: Jurgen Klopp makes shocking Alberto Moreno claim ahead of final
JURGEN KLOPP has made an incredible claim about Alberto Moreno ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Liverpool are gearing up for the biggest match of their season against Real Madrid on Saturday in Kiev (7.45pm).
The Reds, who are aiming to win the European Cup for the sixth time in their history, are hoping to deliver their first major piece of silverware under Klopp.
Real on the other hand are hoping to create their own bit of history by lifting Europe’s premier prize for the third season in succession.
Moreno was Liverpool’s number one choice left-back before an injury last December saw his starting position taken by Andrew Robertson.
He’s the best shooter in the squad
Although the Spaniard has been ridiculed at times during his spell at Anfield, Klopp reckons his shooting prowess is undeniable.
When asked to describe Moreno, Klopp said in an interview: “He’s an outstanding footballer. There are about 10 players who can play in offensive positions.
“He’s the best shooter in the squad, but unfortunately nobody knows that, because in the games it didn’t happen.
“He had an outstanding pre-season and first part of the season and then got an injury, but Robbo (Andrew Robertson) stepped up and was impressive.”
Moreno meanwhile, has previously played against Real five times during his career, but takes issue with suggestions that the La Liga giants are favourites to win the final.
In an interview with Spanish paper AS, he said: “That is what they say in Spain. I'm not in agreement.
“People can give it to who they want.
“We avoid these comments that say Real Madrid will win it easily."
