FA Cup final: Scholes joked he woke up Anthony Martial ahead of Man Utd vs Chelsea
Scholes was working as a pundit for BT Sport for the Wembley showdown between United and Chelsea.
He and former England team-mates Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard were on the pitch ahead of kick-off watching the two sides prepare.
BT presenter Jake Humphrey challenged Scholes to shoot from the halfway line but he refused as he was not wearing the correct footwear for the occasion.
“This is your moment Paul, I think we should finish to see if you’ve still got it,” Humphrey said.

Scholes replied: “No chance, no chance! I haven’t got studs on. I only play in studs Jake.”
Scholes instead played an inch-perfect pass to Martial.
“Class. Straight to Martial,” Humphrey said.
“Oh it’s coming back, watch out. Oh he’s not as good!”

Martial’s return was wayward, which caused Scholes to joke that he was not 100 per cent focused.
“I just woke him up by the way! He was fast asleep!,” Scholes said.
Martial was named on the Manchester United bench for the clash at Wembley.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the club after a lack of first-team football of late under Jose Mourinho.
