FA Cup final: Man Utd team to play Chelsea confirmed, Lukaku BENCHED, Rashford starts
MANCHESTER UNITED have announced their team for the FA Cup final, with Romelu Lukaku starting from the bench.
Romelu Lukaku has been struggling with an ankle injury
Jose Mourinho is aiming to win the competition for the second time to soften the blow of Manchester City's runaway Premier League win this season.
But the Portuguese coach will be without star man Lukaku from the outset on Saturday afternoon.
The Belgian has been aiming to return this weekend after suffering an ankle injury against Arsenal last month.
Speaking yesterday, Mourinho admitted the powerhouse faced a fight to be fit by saying: “Anthony Martial is fit and Lukaku – we will have to wait till the last moment.
“I don’t want to lie to you and say Lukaku doesn’t play, then he plays, or vice versa.
Ander Herrera starts alongside Paul Pogba
“We will have to wait on Lukaku.”
In his absence, Marcus Rashford will start in attack, alongside Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard.
David De Gea starts in goal, with Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Ashley Young in front of him.
