Karim Benzema: Liverpool make approach for Real Madrid star - shock Spanish claims
LIVERPOOL have reportedly made an approach for Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.
Liverpool have reportedly made an approach for Karim Benzema.
The misfiring forward has only scored four La Liga goals this term and is expected to be shipped out in the summer.
Real Madrid are planning a mass shake-up of their squad as they look to put a poor domestic season behind them.
Los Blancos chief Florentino Perez will splash the cash and one of his main concerns is the forward line.
But first they must offload Benzema and there are a number of clubs interested in taking him from the Bernabeu.
Klopp: Man City vs Liverpool is a 'dream draw' for United fans
According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Liverpool head up the list and have already made an approach for the France international.
Negotiations between the Reds and Real could be rife in the summer as Jurgen Klopp is apparently also interested in signing Dani Ceballos.
However, Perez could have a secret catch up his sleeve to be involved in the deals.
That is because Diario Gol add that Real are interested in a swap deal involving Mohamed Salah.
Mohamed Salah is a target of Real Madrid.
The Egyptian has been in top form this season and Zinedine Zindane’s side are said to be interested in taking him to the Spanish capital.
So Perez will suggest a swap of Benzema and Cabellos for Salah.
But Liverpool will not want to sell their top players, especially if they are to have any chance of closing the gap to Manchester City next term.
