Oscar Garcia rushed to hospital after fan violence at PAOK v Olympiakos
EX-BRIGHTON and Watford boss Oscar Garcia has been taken to hospital after being hit by a rogue object before Olympiakos’ crucial away clash with PAOK.
Olympiakos’ Vice President and General Director Savvas Theodoridis
After the incident Olympiakos’ Vice President and General Director Savvas Theodoridis shouted at referee Alexandros Aretopoulos: “I’m taking the team and I’m gone, goodbye!”
PAOK fans have left the stadium as the match, which was supposed to kick off at 5:30pm (GMT), has yet to start.
Greek reporters at the scene suggest that the game will be cancelled following the ex-Brighton boss’ injury.
Garcia joined the Seagulls in 2013 and came a whisker away from Premier League promotion but a play off semi-final defeat to Derby County led to his resignation.

Olympiakos boss Oscar Garcia almost led Brighton to the Premier League
He returned to England a year later when he signed with Watford but had to step aside soon after due to health problems.
The Greek league has been dealing with fan violence for decades and was suspended in 2015 after a pitch invasion following Panathinaikos’ win over Olympiakos and 2016 after a suspected arson attack on referee Giorgos Bikas’ holiday home.
Superleague leaders PAOK are two points ahead of second-placed AEK Athens and six points away from third place and Olympiakos.
