Barcelona news: Lionel Messi fires warning after being surprised by Nou Camp team-mate
BARCELONA star Lionel Messi has reportedly warned Yerry Mina not to become complacent after being surprised by the defender’s confidence.
Pele on Messi, FIFA and Brazilian football
Mina followed Philippe Coutinho in joining the La Liga giants last month, rocking up at the Nou Camp in a deal worth around £10.5m.
And he arrived in Spain with a reputation as one of South American football’s top emerging talents.
Mina is seen as the perfect man on which Barcelona can build their defensive foundations going forward.
The latest reports from Spain suggest Messi has spoken to the Colombian though to ensure he does not get ahead of himself.
According to Don Balon, Messi has commented on Mina’s confidence when he’s on the ball.
And after monitoring his early showings for the team, he’s suggested the 23-year-old is even more comfortable in possession than Gerard Pique.
However, Messi, having seen Mina almost get himself into a spot of bother against Getafe on Sunday, has sent a message to his new team-mate.
