Arsenal news: Pundit makes big claim on who will be Arsenal goalkeeper next season
ARSENAL goalkeeper Petr Cech is coming towards the end of his playing days but he will still remain at the club next season.
Petr Cech has come under criticism from some Arsenal fans this season
Those are the thoughts of legendary Liverpool defender turned pundit Steve Nicol.
Cech joined Arsenal in the summer of 2015 and has been the Premier League No 1 ever since.
However, the Chelsea hero has come under criticism for his performances from Gunners supporters this season.
His contract at the Emirates expires in the summer of 2019 and Nicol reckons he will see that out.
I don’t think he leaves in the summer, maybe next summer
But he does admit backup keeper David Ospina, who is yet to start a Premier League game this term, is breathing down Cech’s neck.
“I still believe in Petr Cech myself, he’s solid,” Nicol said.
“Gone are the days where he’s getting you five-10 points a season with some miraculous saves. But his basics are still spot on.
“He’s coming to the end of his career, 35 years of age.
