Steve McManaman makes Liverpool transfer demands
STEVE MCMANAMAN wants Liverpool to sign four players this summer - but he doubts he will get his wish.
Steve McManaman would like Liverpool to sign another striker
Liverpool sit fourth in the Premier League and are brimming with cash after the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
They are on course to finish in the Champions League spots once again this season, meaning more money from another European campaign will flow into the Anfield coffers next term.
Jurgen Klopp broke their transfer record last summer with the acquisition of Mohamed Salah from Roma, before shattering it when spending £75million on Virgil van Dijk this month.
And McManaman, although realistic about Liverpool’s recruitment chances, wants the Reds to consider strengthening a number of positions for next term.
"You always want a few more players,” BT Sport pundit Steve McManaman said.
I’d like them to buy another central defender
“I’d love them to buy a 30-goal-a-season forward to complement the players we've got.
“I’d like them to buy another central defender and a couple of wingers.
“But in football you can't have every position filled by everybody that you want."
Steve McManaman is a former Liverpool midfielder
Liverpool are not expected to sign any more players before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
However, Daniel Sturridge has completed a move to West Brom.
The striker has moved to the Hawthorns on loan until the end of the season.
