Jurgen Klopp has given Ejaria, 20, the green light to link up with the Championship strugglers on a loan deal until the end of the season, according to The Sun.
Sunderland boss Chris Coleman was denied a loan deal by Liverpool for 18-year-old forward Ben Woodburn earlier this month.
Ejaria has failed to make a senior appearance for the Reds this season.
Sunderland, currently in the Championship relegation zone, have signed two players in this transfer window.
