With Real Madrid currently stuck in a rut, talk is rife the La Liga giants are set to overhaul their attack at the end of the season, with PSG forward Neymar their No1 target.
The Brazil international only moved to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona back in the summer, moving there in a world-record £200million deal.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say the 25-year-old has informed Messi he does plan to jump ship - but only if he is overlooked for the Ballon d’Or.
Reports have claimed Neymar has been told by PSG he can leave if he fires them to Champions League glory this season.
The club, ironically, face Real in the last 16 when the competition resumes in February.

Yet Neymar will supposedly stay put to help them retain the title if Unai Emery’s team reign supreme.
Don Balon say the Brazil international will also reject Real’s advances if Brazil win the World Cup in Russia.
And it is individual glory that will be the deciding factor.
Meanwhile, speaking back in November, Neymar’s father refused to rule out his son returning to La Liga.

“Neymar has a lengthy contract at PSG and has just arrived. We've been here for three months and there is already talk of an exit.
