New signing Mkhitaryan is cup-tied for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea tomorrow night, having featured for Manchester United against Bristol City.
The Armenian winger joins the Gunners in a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez heading to Old Trafford, but the 29-year-old will have to wait a little longer to make his debut.
Alexi Iwobi is likely to continue in an advanced role with Aaron Ramsey (illness) and Danny Welbeck (muscle) both doubts.
Nacho Monreal (hamstring) is also unlikely to feature, while Olivier Giroud (hamstring) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles) are both sidelined.
The tie is currently finely balanced after a 0-0 draw during the first leg at Stamford Bridge.
