Chelsea news: Barcelona plot surprise January swoop for Blues star Andreas Christensen
BARCELONA are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen in January.

After usurping David Luiz last month, Christensen has settled in well into the Blues’ backline.
And his form has not gone unnoticed, with some of Europe’s superpowers keeping tabs on his situation.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Barca are pondering a move, with Ernesto Valverde making it his priority to land a world-class defender.
The report adds that he has been followed closely over the past six weeks.
It is also suggested that the Blues are keen to extend Christensen’s deal which expires in two-and-a-half-years.

Former Blues defender Eddie Newton meanwhile, thinks Christensen could be the “next John Terry”.
He said: “Andreas is a player that we can definitely have here for the next 10 years.
"He is another John Terry for me, and has that same kind of stature because he has got that ability."

Meanwhile, Barca are closing in on a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho.
Sunday Express Sport understands a £125million deal is in place between them and Liverpool for the move to take place in the summer.
And Nike have leaked news of a transfer, although neither club are yet to confirm it.
