Motherwell in Euro rush
MARK McGHEE picked up the manager of the month award and then admitted Motherwell will need to keep reproducing their January best if they are to have any chance of back-to-back European campaigns.
The Well boss surrendered any hope of regaining third spot after the defeat at Hearts but still believes fourth place and the second Europa Liga place is stll very much an option.
McGhee is confident his team can still make the top four but knows they must avoid defeat in games like this afternoon’s clash with Euro rivals Dundee United.
We had gone nine games unbeaten and we want to go on a run like that again
McGhee said: "If we had beaten Hearts then we would have a chance of finishing in third spot. But we are too far behind them now for that to be a realistic aim.
"But fourth place is still a possibility. We had gone nine games unbeaten and we want to go on a run like that again.
“I think this club should be challenging for Europe every season."
