Romelu Lukaku: Man Utd striker central figure in Man City bust up
ROMELU LUKAKU was reportedly at the centre of a bust up between Manchester United and Manchester City players and staff after the derby.
Romelu Lukaku is said to have been involved in the Manchester United tunnel spat
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is said to have triggered the spat between the two camps.
Mourinho was unhappy with City players loudly celebrating their 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.
But Lukaku appears to have had a central role in the ensuing melee.
Mourinho had milk thrown on him by members of the City camp before a scuffle broke out, with up to 20 people involved.
And Lukaku was said to have been ‘prominently involved’ in the incident, which left assistant manager Mikel Arteta with a cut eyebrow.
Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER clam Lukaku threw a bottle that hit the face of a City staff member.
The fracas came after a heated match at Old Trafford that saw City extend their lead at the top of the table.
Lukaku himself had a poor game and it was his mistake when trying to clear a fee-kick that led to Nicolas Otamendi’s winning goal.
The striker is currently enduring a barren patch of form at United, with only two goals in 13 games.
Romelu Lukaku is denied by Ederson late in the derby
He remained on the field with United chasing the game as Mourinho brought off Jesse Lingard for Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 14 minutes left.
