Ballon d'Or 2017: Barcelona star Luis Suarez voted higher than Antoine Griezmann
BARCELONA star Luis Suarez has outranked Atletico Madrid ace Antoine Griezmann at the 2017 Ballon d'Or awards.
A look at Luis Suarez's career in numbers
Uruguay international Suarez enjoyed a sensational 2016/17 campaign, netting 37 times in 51 appearances in all competitions.
And, despite his struggles in front of goal at Barcelona this term, his quality has been recognised with 13th place in this year’s Ballon d’Or standings.
Suarez’s placing puts him ahead of fellow La Liga talisman Griezmann, who’s similarly failed to fit top form this season.
Having been linked with a mega-money move to Manchester United over the summer, Griezmann has scored just seven times in 18 games.
And that’s seen him slide from third-place to 18th, five places further back than Suarez.
Griezmann is not the only Atletico man to have been ranked among the world's 30 best players.
He's joined by Los Rojiblancos stopper Jan Oblak, who's been voted 26th.
