ASTON VILLA captain John Terry has returned to Chelsea as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Terry, who suffered a broken metatarsal in last month’s loss to Sheffield Wednesday, was back at his beloved club’s Cobham training complex to use their state-of-the-art facilities.
He even donned Chelsea’s training kit and caught up with old pal David Luiz, who has a knee injury and will miss their Champions League game against Atletico Madrid tonight.
Terry is not expected to return to full fitness until the New Year but he has already started running again.
The Chelsea legend uploaded a video to Instagram of himself jogging on an anti-gravity treadmill.
He captioned the clip: “20 minutes on the AlterG today.”
Terry had played every minute in the Championship before limping off in the 20th minute of the 2-1 defeat against Wednesday at Villa Park.

Speaking after the game, Terry admitted he was “devastated” by the injury.
He added: “I will be doing everything I can to get back fit as soon as possible.”
Villa, however, have been managing just fine without Terry, picking up 10 points from four games.

Terry, who skippered Chelsea to 15 major honours, left Stamford Bridge in June following the expiry of his contract.
Despite offers from abroad, he opted for the challenge of helping Villa win promotion from the Championship.
Steve Bruce appointed Terry as the club’s captain and the 36-year-old has avidly followed Villa during his spell on the sidelines, watching the team in recent away games against QPR and Leeds United.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will extend Villa loanee Sam Johnstone’s contract.
