Leeds news: Striker Jack Clarke agrees terms, set to sign deal
LEEDS UNITED starlet Jack Clarke is on the brink of signing his maiden professional contract.
Leeds are set to hand academy striker Jack Clarke a pro deal
Clarke, 16, has hit nine goals in seven starts for Leeds’ Under-18s this term and is highly-rated by the club’s academy bosses.
According to Football Insider, he has agreed terms and will put pen to paper on his 17th birthday later this month.
Clarke also features for Leeds’ Under-23 team, having made his debut last term, and also regularly trains with Thomas Christiansen’s first team.
The teenager's agent is former Leeds favourite Ian Harte, who has tipped him for the top.
When asked if he represents Clarke, Harte said: ”Yes, he is a top talent. Remember the name."
The York-born starlet is currently contracted to Leeds on a two-year scholarship, which he signed in May.
"This is everything that I have worked hard for over the last couple of years," he said at the time.
"It feels like the start of what I want to do with my life. But I don't have any set aims Whatever happens (next), I will be grateful for it."
Leeds travel to Championship promotion-contenders Wolves tonight (7.45pm).
