LEEDS UNITED transfer target Kamil Jozwiak has extended his contract with Lech Poznan.
Leeds United target Kamil Jozwiak has extended his Lech Poznan contract
Leeds recently had a bid worth £180,000 plus add-ons (€200,000) knocked back by the Polish club for winger Jozwiak, whose previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season.
But he has put pen to paper on an initial two-year contract with the option for two further seasons.
“I’m a product of this club and I owe a lot to it,” Jozwiak said. “I know that staying here is the best option for me at the moment.
“I am glad I signed the contract and now I can concentrate fully on my game.”
Jozwiak rejected a four-year contract extension after reports of Leeds’ bid emerged.
That prompted Poznan to issue a statement on their website, admitting defeat in their hopes of keeping the 19-year-old.

Discussing Jozwiak’s u-turn, Poznan vice-president Piotr Rutkowski said: “This is very good information.
“After a great deal of confusion a few weeks ago and broke off talks with a player, Kamil came to us alone and offered an agreement.
“We came to him quickly, and in his conversations he and his father participated.
“This clause is a tribute to the player whose representative had previously expected us to build 1 + 2 + 1, absolutely unacceptable.
“From the moment we talked directly with his dad Kamil and myself, we worked out a compromise model.
“We will not talk about the detailed terms.”
Jozwiak’s representative, Przemyslaw Pantak, claims another Championship club were interested.
“The interest in Kamil was a lot,” he said. “I can admit that there was interest from two teams from the English Championship, one from the German Bundesliga and two from the top of the [Polish] Ekstraklasa. There were also written offers.
“Eventually, however, Lech agreed to the terms of the contract, so Kamil decided to remain.
“In conclusion, we can say: 'Per aspera ad astra', that is not easy negotiations, but we are happy with the end result and we expect Kamil to grow accordingly to continue to pursue abroad at the right moment.”
