Midfielder Nydam, 18, has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal to commit his future to Ipswich until the summer of 2021.
But the development will come as a blow to Arsenal, who were reportedly plotting a January swoop.
The Sun reported last month that Arsene Wenger views Nydam as a star in the making and was willing to pay £2million for his services in the next transfer window.
But Nydam has pledged his future to Ipswich and said: “I’m absolutely buzzing.

“I’ve been at the club since I was nine years old and this extension is great for me and shows the hard work has paid off.
“The gaffer has put his trust in me and I can’t be more thankful for that.
“It’s been a decent season for me so far. I’ve adjusted fairly well to the Championship and I’m training well so I just need to keep going.
“I feel good and this is where I want to be.”
Nydam, who was born in Zimbabwe, made his senior debut for Ipswich in August and has featured 13 times in all competitions this term.
The Harare-born ace has featured at Under-19 level for England.
