Man Utd news: Barcelona prepare January move for Ander Herrera
BARCELONA are preparing a move for Manchester United star Ander Herrera, according to reports.
Ander Herrera is attracting strong interest from Barcelona
Ernesto Valverde’s side have made a bright start to the season and are yet to suffer defeat.
Barca sit six points clear of Valencia ahead of their clash with bottom-side Malaga tomorrow.
But Valverde is already on the lookout for potential reinforcements when the winter window opens in January and is even more concerned about building for the future.
Andres Iniesta was recently handed a new ‘lifetime contract’ with the Catalan club but at 33 years of age he is unlikely to be able to perform at his best in the coming years.
And Spanish publication Don Balon claim Barca have identified Herrera as his long-term successor.

Herrera has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho this season following Nemanja Matic’s arrival.
The midfielder is also keen to be playing regularly if he wants to make Spain’s World Cup squad next year.
And Don Balon state Barca are ready to give him the chance to shine at the Nou Camp.
Valverde is a long-term admirer of Herrera having worked with him during their spell together at Athletic Bilbao.

Herrera’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain with the 28-year-old out of contract at the end of the season.
United are thought to be prepared to activate the 12-month extension on his deal if Herrera agrees to the new terms.
And the Red Devils will need to act quickly before Barca come knocking in January.
