Jamie Walker is still on Rangers' radar for this week
Rangers have chased Walker all summer but have yet to reach an agreement with Hearts over a fee.
Walker, who is out of contract next summer, is keen on a move.
And Express Sport understands Rangers still want the winger to add more creativity to Pedro Caixinha’s side.
And while Caixinha has overseen much of the overhaul this summer Allen, who was appointed director of football at Ibrox in June, is trying to finalise any late deals.
Caixinha has headed back to Portugal for a break with the players given four days off for the international break.

Pedro Caixinha still wants Jamie Walker from Hears this week
Rangers have signed 10 new players this summer and snapped up Aaron Nemane on loan from Allen’s former club Man City last week.
But Caixinha still wants more additions with the squad looking short at full back and for cover up front.
“Mark will be in charge of it,” said Caixinha.
“I will go to a university class in Portugal this week. I will be in contact with Mark. We know what we want. We are working on what we want and we hope to get it.
“I’m pleased with the work of the boys and the result. They will now have four days off, time to recover and plenty of time to prepare for the next match.”
