Arsenal transfer news: Ozil may sign £300k-a-week deal due to lack of offers - John Cross
MESUT OZIL may decide to sign a new contract at Arsenal due to lack of offers elsewhere.
Mesut Ozil has not received a host of offers this summer
Ozil’s contract is due to expire in a year’s time and has been offered a mammoth £300,000-a-week deal to extend his stay.
Gunners team-mates Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also out of contact at the end of the season.
The Mirror’s John Cross claims both Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain have both received a “raft of offers” from other clubs this summer - but Ozil has not.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in Sanchez, while Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Mesut Ozil hasn't had a raft of offers like some of other guys
And with Arsenal willing to make Ozil their best-paid player of all time, the German World Cup winner may decide staying put is his best option.
Cross told the Mirror Football Podcast: ”[Arsenal] want to give him [Ozil] a new contract, without doubt.
“But most people would see that as 'protecting the asset' as much as truly wanting him to stay.
"Let's be honest here: Mesut Ozil hasn't had a raft of offers like some of other guys, like Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, have had. It's changed.
“At some point, Mesut Ozil might turn around and say, 'You know what? I could leave on a free [next summer] and maybe get a really good package as a free transfer… or I could stay here, where I'm being offered £300,000 a week.
"This [the offer to Ozil] is unchartered territory for Arsenal"
