Barkley has just under a year left on his contract at Everton and turned down the option of an extension towards the end of last season.
The England midfielder was expected to leave his boyhood club this summer in search of a new challenge.
But Jim White, talking on his talkSPORT show this morning, claimed his sources at Everton are saying Barkley looks set to stay at Goodison Park.
Barkley has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer but Everton are reportedly yet to receive any offers for the 23-year-old.

And Everton manager Ronald Koeman recently warned clubs the midfielder will not be sold in a cut-price deal as the transfer window winds down.
"No, of course not," Koeman said, when asked if Everton would allow Barkley to leave on the cheap.
"If there is a club thinking we can wait until the last day and we put some money on the table and we get Ross Barkley, sorry, you do not get Ross Barkley."
Barkley missed Everton's pre-season due to injury and is yet to feature in the Toffees' three competitive fixtures of the new campaign.
He recently recovered from a groin operation but pulled up in training after returning to the first-team squad on Monday.
