Wayne Rooney wants £30m to leave Manchester United - report
WAYNE ROONEY looks set to be on a collision course with Manchester United this summer, reports claim.
Rooney "proud" of breaking Man United goalscoring record
Wayne Rooney appears to be increasingly likely to leave Manchester United, having failed to curry favour from Jose Mourinho.
The 31-year-old, who has a year left to run on his present deal, has been the subject of a huge money offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club, while Everton are prepared to pave a return to Goodison Park for their prodigal son.
He admitted after the Europa League final he would take some time before making a decision over his future.
Rooney currently takes home around £300,000-a-week.
And according to The Sun, the England international will demand a huge pay-off.
Wayne Rooney's future is up in the air
You don’t want to create voids for speculation around such big players
The Sun says he wants £30million, where United are apparently only ready to offer £10m.
United legend Gary Neville admitted earlier this week that he is surprised at how the club have handled Rooney’s future to date.
He said: “You don’t want to create voids for speculation around such big players.
Jose Mourinho doesn't necessarily want Wayne Rooney to leave
“I am surprised it has not been dealt with.
“You don’t want that speculation to hang over a pre-season because every single press conference and media session will be clogged up with the issue of whether he is staying or going.”
