Wilfried Bony: I love Manchester City... and I want to stay at the club
WILFRIED BONY is determined to prove his worth at Manchester City.
Wilfried Bony endured an unproductive spell at Stoke
The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke, where he scored a mere two goals in 10 games for the club.
But Bony insists he wants to be a part of Pep Guardiola’s plans when he returns to City.
"I love the club, the fans," Bony said.
"I want to show that Wilfried Bony is still the same player. I've been through a difficult time.
"Leading the goalscoring two years ago, it's still me, nothing has changed, just a difficult time.
I love Manchester City
“I just want to show them I can do more than that so I just need to get myself ready."
The striker joined City for £28m in January 2015 after bagging 26 goals in 54 league games for Swansea.
However, competing with star man Sergio Aguero means he has struggled to hold down a regular first team place.
And with 20-year-old talent Gabriel Jesus now in the picture, Bony admits a decision on his future may be out of his hands.
Wilfried Bony says he still loves Manchester City
"Manchester City have to decide how many players [they want]," he added.
"I'm a Manchester City player. I'm just getting myself ready for the pre-season on July 10.
"It didn't work the way we wanted [at Stoke] but I thank the coach, the fans, because we really enjoyed the time there.
“I'm looking forward now, that's the past for me. I wish them well next season."
