TOTTENHAM have no desire to sell Harry Kane and Manchester United would reportedly have to spend an eye-watering sum to land him.
Harry Kane: It’s good to be a consistent striker
Harry Kane was in fabulous form for Tottenham, who finished runners-up to champions Chelsea last term, as he hit 29 Premier League goals.
His devastating displays have caught the attention of Manchester United, who were linked with a move last summer.
Jose Mourinho is on the search for a world-class forward and has been tracking Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
Bayern however, have maintained they will report United to FIFA should an illegal approach be made.
Tottenham could demand £200m for Harry Kane
And now according to The Independent, Spurs have put paid to United’s hopes of signing Kane anytime soon.
The report says United were mulling over a £100m bid, but Daniel Levy will demand £200m for his signature.
Levy is known for being a tough negotiator when it comes to transfers.
It is suggested United are well aware that Kane lacks the star quality from a commerical perspective of some of their recent targets, including Antoine Griezmann.
Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of Harry Kane
With the England international only 23, Spurs would be reluctant to let their prized asset leave anytime soon.
Cristiano Ronaldo was on United’s radar, but Mourinho has reportedly told the club to focus on Kane instead.
Kane is contracted with Tottenham until the summer of 2020.
